What is Fam~Fest?
What does the host church provide?
- The host church will receive posters to copy and promote the event via church bulletins, radio stations, public places, etc. These can also be downloaded here.
- The host church provides prizes. First place winners should get candy bars, or toys of some kind, while the second place winners should get little candies-bubble gum and nerds etc.
- The host church provides adults/older teens to sit amongst children who are dropped off. Rarely do we have problems, but it is wise to have someone older modeling for the children who come without their parents.
- The host church provides one or more Memory Verse Listeners. The amount of listeners depends on the crowd. But usually two is sufficient. The listener should be someone fair and at least in their late teens.
- The host church provides several Altar workers, who are comfortable with praying and leading people to CHRIST.
- If registration and follow-up is desired, the host church will provide registration table with one to two helpers.
- Optional - A snack time after each program to allow fellowship and people time to get to know new visitors.
- We request that the platform/stage area be cleared off.
- A daily meal for the Lord Family is a huge blessing, but certainly not required. Please let us know either way so we can plan, thank you so much!
- Another huge blessing, but not required is access to a vehicle to run errands, do laundry, etc.
- A place to park our 60 foot bus and plug in to the main breaker panel or A/C units. The bus has a 13 foot overhead clearance from wires and tree limbs. The entrance driveway to the church should be at least 10 feet wide. Call with any questions.
- The Lord Family comes on a love offering basis. Some churches prepare weeks in advance by taking special offerings so the burden just isn't on those that attend the Fam-Fest.
How do churches use Fam~Fest?
- Typically a church will kickoff a Fam~Fest with the Lord Family ministering for the main Sunday Morning Service. Then the actual Fam~Fest Program starts Sunday night going through to Wednesday night.
- Fam~Fest can be used as an outreach into your community!
- Some churches will replace their VBS with a Monday through Thursday Program using the Lord Family and then Friday the church will put on a grand finale, craft day, field day, barbecue etc. without the Lord Family.
- Some churches will opt for a weekend Fam~Fest using Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday Morning. (Although the programs run better with four days)
- Some churches will call the Fam~Fest a Kid's Crusade and use it to minister as an outreach to the community.
- Some churches will have a snack time afterwards allowing a chance for visiting families to meet people.
- Some churches will add a recreation, craft time, etc. at the end of each day program to extend the time.
- At any rate we are flexible and want to see GOD do great things!
We can even assist your church in canvassing the community inviting families to bring their children to each event by putting invitations on cars, going door to door, etc. We can set up at parks, playgrounds, shopping areas, etc. with the puppets and create awareness of the Fam~Fest. Let us know if this is a need.
